PSG’s win over Ligue 1 rivals Marseille saw their star forward Kylian Mbappe equal the Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo’s record at the club level. The 25-year-old French international now has an equal number of matches in the form of an unbeaten streak against a particular club at the top tier.
Mbbape is now unbeaten in his last 16 matches against PSG’s French rivals Olympique Marseille. Cristiano Ronaldo had earlier set a record for a 16-match unbeaten run against Espanyol with the majority of those matches coming against the club during his Real Madrid days. In this run of unbeaten matches, Mbappe and CR7 have managed to win 14 encounters while they have drawn the remaining two.
Kylian Mbappe overtakes Lionel Messi
In the process of equaling Cristiano Ronaldo’s streak of 16 matches unbeaten run, Kylian Mbappoe has managed to peep Lionel Messi’s record. Leo held a run of 13 unbeaten against Segunda Division club Racing Santander. The Argentinian won 11 matches against the Spanish side and drew the remaining two.
