Why have Kyle Walker and Harry Maguire been ruled out of the England squad?
England defenders, Harry Maguire and Kyle Walker have been withdrawn from the Three Lions squad after sustaining respective injuries in England’s 1-0 loss to Brazil in an international friendly.
Manchester City defender Kyle Walker who wore the captain’s armband at Wembley left the pitch with a hamstring injury just 20 minutes after the match. He was replaced by Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa and was spotted walking down towards the dressing room.
It appears that the Man City full-back has suffered a hamstring injury but the extent of his injury is still unknown. England manager Gareth Southgate explained that Walker has returned to Etihad for further assessment of his injury.
“We don’t know [how serious it is],” England manager Gareth Southgate told reporters after the game. “He’s not had many injuries so he’s not sure if it’s just tightness or something more serious. We’ll know more over the next few days.”
Man United’s Harry Maguire lasted 67 minutes at Wembley before being replaced by Lewis Dunk and he has now been ruled out for Tuesday’s friendly against Belgium.

When will Kyle Walker and Harry Maguire return for their respective clubs?
Harry Maguire was taken off during the second half of England’s 1-0 loss to Brazil and has left the camp to return to Manchester United on Sunday to undergo further scans on his injury. This will be a major setback for Man United boss Erik Ten Hag who is currently without Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, Tyrell Malacia, and Jonny Evans and cannot afford to lose Harry Maguire at this stage of the season.
The 31-year-old has now returned to Carrington to be assessed by the medical staff and it remains to be seen whether he will be available for United’s next tie against Brentford.
On the other hand, Maguire’s international teammate Kyle Walker was subbed off in the first half with a potential hamstring injury. The Man City defender could potentially miss out on their weekend clash against Arsenal.
