Kenya vs Namibia Preview

  • Tournament: Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers
  • Date: Tuesday, November 19
  • Kick-off Time: 1:00 pm GMT
  • Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane, South Africa.

It’s a battle of no cause, but only pride. The sides involved in this game, Kenya and Namibia national football teams are out of the top two contention of the Group J of Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers and are hence not travelling to Morocco next season for the main tournament. This game has no stakes, but what it has is a cause of morale, the morale of ending the journey with three points.

Hosts Kenya had one last chance to try for a top-two finish, but they lost that after drawing against Zimbabwe in the last game. Now, they have five points from five games, which includes one win, two draws, and two losses.

The season is more forgetful for the Namibia national football team, they lost all their games in this round, except the last one against Cameroon, where they managed a goalless draw. Hence, they have a point on them only and are long out of contention.

Key Players to Watch in Kenya vs Namibia

Michael Olunga (Kenya)

The striker plays in the Qatari league for Al Duhail SC. Hence, he is one of the most high-profile players in the side. The captain of Kenya’s national football team since 2021, Olunga has always been the star performer. His performance has been below the belt in this group, and that has cost the team. There is not much to do in this game, but a goal from him will be enough to show his presence, and more so to make it feel.

Olunga has a good chance to tear the opponents’ backline, they did it without him, but now with him, things should be far more simple, or rather easier to do.

Riaan Hanamub (Namibia)

Hanuman captained the side in the last qualifiers, and the team fared well in those two games. At least there was no loss. No, outside his leadership the performance was worse. They have four losses, in five games. His defensive skills were also of no use. He needs to give a good try in this game, and if possible try to keep the game a clean sheet in their favour. His stamina of a full 90 minutes is a big plus.

Kenya vs Namibia Prediction
