Right after a stellar high-school career, Kayla McBride headed to the University of Notre Dame, where she was averaging 8.7 points per game during her freshman year. Unfortunately, McBride was sidelined during the second half of the season due to her academics while her team advanced to the NCAA Championship game.

Gearing forward for her sophomore year, Kayla elevated her game and emerged as a starter for the Fighting Irish.
