Arsenal star Kai Havertz makes hilarious claim about Tottenham vs Manchester City
Arsenal star Kai Havertz has said that he will be supporting Tottenham Hotspur when Ange Postecoglu’s side host Manchester City on May 14. Arsenal defeated Manchester United 1-0 in their Premier League away game at Old Trafford on Sunday, May 12. Leandro Trossard’s 20th-minute goal, set up by Havertz, turned out to be the winner.
Mikel Arteta’s team now have 86 points from 37 matches, one more than Manchester City. City, however, have a game in hand and will play Spurs next. Hence, even if Arsenal beat Everton in the final matchday of the season, they will need City to drop points. Tottenham are the most likely opponents to give City issues.
Havertz has now confirmed that he will indeed be supporting their north London rivals for the mid-week game. He said (via Ssky Sports):
“I’m going to be the biggest fan of Tottenham ever!”
Arsenal, meanwhile, got the job done at Old Trafford by a narrow margin. The win marked their first Premier League double over Manchester United in 17 years.
Kai Havertz continues to shine for Arsenal
When Arsenal splurged the cash to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea last summer, many eyebrows were raised. Havertz struggled during the end of his Chelsea stint. Hence, fans and experts were skeptical of Arsenal’s decision to spend big on the German.
Havertz, after an initial underwhelming run, has settled in brilliantly and has been putting in game-changing performances. He once again did so against Manchester United. Havertz has now scored 13 goals and has provided seven assists in 50 appearances across competitions this season.
