Kai Havertz joins Lil Yachty meme trend after North London Derby win over Tottenham in Premier League
Arsenal had a memorable day in the North London Derby on Sunday (April 28) after they beat local rivals Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 to stay in the hunt for the Premier League title race. A fixture that saw Arsenal’s Kai Havertz raise the roof with an assist and a goal was much celebrated on the red side of the English capital. After the big win, Havertz took his social media handle by storm as he shared a meme on social media which is going viral.
Havertz joins Lil Yachty meme trend
The Arsenal striker took to his X handle where he posted mood with a Lil Yachty meme trend consisting of his picture. The player’s mood was at the seventh-heaven having helped Arsenal to a 3-0 lead in the first half. The AI-generated meme of his mood saw him walk down the canvas and was then playing to the beats while the fans were having fun and enjoying their moment.
Havertz was one of the chief architects of the Arsenal win against bitter-rivals Spurs as they cemented their place at the top of the Premier League table despite Manchester City having games in hand. The North London Derby was a topsy-turvy affair with a game of two halves. Arsenal had a 3-0 lead heading into the half time before Spurs found their way back into the match.
The scoring was opened by an own goal from Pierre-Emile Højbjerg in the first half with Bukayo Saka then doubling Arsenal’s lead controversially. The lead was then tripled by Havertz before the break after he scored from a corner in the 38th minute. The second half saw Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya make a sloppy mistake to hand Spurs a lifeline after his mistake allowed Christian Romero to score Spurs’ first while Son converted a late penalty to make it 3-2.
Arsenal top of Premier League standings
However, there was no way back for Spurs as they failed to find the equaliser with Mikel Arteta’s sides holding firm for the three points. With the win, the Gunners go on 80 points from 35 matches while champions Manchester City are now on 79 points from 34 matches. Interestingly, Arsenal will face City’s bitter rivals Manchester United in the penultimate weekend while City face Arsenal’s arch-rivals Spurs in 48 hours during the final match week.
Liverpool’s defeat to Everton and draw to West Ham has all but ended their pursuit of a title challenge in the Premier League.
