Juventus to sign Thiago Motta to replace Massimiliano Allegri, reports suggest

Thiago Motta could see his future joining his former team Internazionale’s archrival Juventus, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported. Bianconeri proposed a three-year contract for Motta as a Massimiliano Allegri replacement at the club.

Romano added that there have not been any further updates regarding this situation, as Mota needed time to respond to the proposal. Motta will have his contract expire with Bologna by the end of the next month.

Massimiliano Allegri replacement: Thiago Motta has not decided on his future yet

As things stand, there has been no talks about him extending a contract with the current employer. Motta’s agent, Alessandro Canovi spoke to TMW Radio regarding the future of his client.

“The season still needs to be finished, nothing has really been decided yet,” Canovi said. “There will be a way to verify the situations, but taking it for granted that it will go one way or the other makes no sense. It will depend on the projects.”

Meanwhile Bologna CEO, Claudio Fenucci admitted that he has no power to predict what will happen in the near future.

“Only Thiago knows what he will do next and soon we will all know… In his last interview, he said that when there is something new to say, he will tell everyone, so I stick to that,” he said.”

Motta himself said that he won’t be in a rush to decide about his future. “My future or that of the players is not important: at the right time we will gather around a table and see if there are the conditions to continue or not to continue,” he said via Tuttomercato.

The Brazilian-born Italian citizen has done a remarkable job by helping Bologna qualify for the Champions League, which is the first time ever for the club. Bologna outplayed some notable sides to secure the third position at the end of the season. La Grassa had some impressive runs such as a double over the two capital clubs Lazio as well as AS Roma, and pushed the likes of Juventus, Inter, and Napoli to draw in the process.
