Born on May 5, 1999, in Amsterdam, Netherlands, to Ruth and Patrick Kluivert, Justin Kluivert was born into a family of well-known footballers. His father, Patrick Kluivert, enjoyed a stellar career with legendary clubs like Ajax, FC Barcelona, and AC Milan while sometimes carrying his national team on his back. Patrick Kluivert’s time at Barcelona remains the peak of his career, where he won the Champions League and the La Liga. He has 40 goals for the Dutch national team, and his influence in developing Justin as a fast and tactically astute attacker was visible from the beginning.

While his mother maintains a reasonably low profile from the public eye, she has constantly supported Justin’s football career, often seen on the sidelines. His brother Ruben Kluivert is a footballer playing for the Portuguese side Casa Pia.

He is also the grandson of Kenneth Kluivert, a Surinamese footballer and Curacaoan descent from his paternal grandmother. He also has two other brothers involved in football, Shane and Quincy Kluivert, who are currently in the developing phases of their careers.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Justin Kluivert started his football career with the legendary Dutch club Ajax in Amsterdam in 2016. He immediately broke into the first team and showcased his talent to become one of the most exciting wingers in the league. He helped the team win the KNVB Cup in 2019 and was also a part of their Europa League runner-up and Eredivisie campaigns. He made 56 appearances for the club over two seasons, scored 13 times, and made 10 assists.

Justin then moved for €18.75 million into the big leagues in Europe with AS Roma in 2018, when he became a regular starter for the club. He showcased his talent in the Serie A, making 68 appearances for the club in over 3 seasons, scoring 9 goals, and getting 10 assists.

As his time at Roma was not the best depiction of his talents due to constant managerial changes and their preferences for other players over him, he went out on loan to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig for a season where he scored in the Champions League against Manchester United in their 3-2 victory.

He then made another loan move to French club OGC Nice, where he made 31 appearances with six goals and six assists and was the Coupe de France runner-up. While there was an option to buy, Nice did not act upon it, and the following season, he made another loan move to Valencia, Spain.

He played for the team regularly in Spain, making 29 appearances with eight goals and two assists. After several failed moves, Justin finally found stability in the Premier League with AFC Bournemouth, who bought him for a reported €11 million + €1.5 million.

Kluivert has been making a name for himself in the Premier League since his move in 2023 and has made 60 appearances so far, scoring 21 times and assisting 7 times. Kluivert has become a key asset for the English side and has been impressive with his performances week in and week out.
