Jurgen Klopp to assume managerial role for one game
With the end of football season 2023-24, Jurgen Klopp’s glorious era of nine-long years at Liverpool F.C. came to an end. The 57-year-old decided to part ways with the EPL giants as he wished to take a break from the tiring role of a football manager. The tactical mastermind cited that he was “running out of energy”.
But now, it has been confirmed that Jurgen Klopp is to be seen soon in another managerial responsibility. Borussia Dortmund’s Polish pair – Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski have their farewell match hosted by the club on September 7, and their former head coach Jurgen Klopp will manage them in that special game!
Borussia Dortmund announced this refreshing news in a special video through their social media accounts. In that funny skit, Piszczek was seen saying that for their farewell game, they need a “retired coach”. Just after this statement, Klopp appeared and it was made clear that Klopp would coach them for their final tie. The special game will be hosted at Signal Iduna Park.
It must be noted that Jurgen Klopp had managed the Bundesliga giants for eight illustrious years, from 2008 to 2015. During these magical years, Borussia Dortmund won two Bundesliga titles, one DFB Pokal and one DFL Super Cup. The club also emerged as runners-up in 2012-13. Klopp had a win ratio of 56.43% at the club, playing 319 games, winning 180, drawing 69, and losing only 70.
Club legends Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski have served Borussia Dortmund for 12 and 20 years respectively. The defender and the wingers had their best years at the club under the head coach Jurgen Klopp. So, a reunion of the three will be nostalgic for many.
