Jurgen Klopp provides updates on injuries at Liverpool prior to Brighton match
Liverpool will be back in action for the Premier League chase this weekend. Jurgen Klopp’s boys are scheduled to face Brighton at Anfield and the German manager has given updates on the team.
The latest loss for The Reds is with Andy Robertson who got injured for the second time this season. The Scottish full-back was subbed off in the first half during a friendly match against Northern Ireland.

Jurgen Klopp reveals that Andy Robertson’s injury is “not serious”
Klopp announced that what happened to Robertson is not serious. However, he decided to keep the player away from an official match for an intensive recovery. “Robbo, we take it a little bit day by day so we will see,” the former Mainz manager said on the club’s official announcement. “He will not train today but it’s not as bad. So that’s fine.”
Curtis Jones, Darwin Nunez, and Ibrahima Konate are having different issues after the international break.
“Curtis, I am not sure if he is available [for Sunday], but in training,” Klopp added. “Ibou was an extra rest day [on Thursday], nothing else.
“[Nunez] is fine. He did his rehab during the week, trained the first day partially since we are back partially and since then he is in full training.”
Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Diogo Jota remain sidelined
Liverpool’s three key players Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Diogo Jota will have to wait a little longer to get back to action. Klopp will continue monitoring the progress in the coming weeks to see if it’s possible for those players to play again.
“And the other boys, from next week on step by step I think they will join parts of team training and then team training, so we will see what we do with that. They are not too far away but not in yet, none of them was yet even close to team training. But they all make their steps and so it’s positive.”
During the initial six months of last season, Liverpool almost solely relied on youngster Stefan Bacjetic who has been injured since September 2023. It is still unknown when the young Spaniard would get his feet back on the pitch again.
“Football brain-wise he is a natural so I don’t think he lost anything. But rhythm is something else,” Klopp said. “He is now in partial training with the U21s and he will be in full training with the U21s next week because we pretty much don’t train because we play all the time. Then after that he will join our training. That’s the plan and then we will see.”
Liverpool has not won against Brighton in the last three meetings. The last time they did was in the 2021/22 season, winning two goals two nil at AMEX Stadium thanks to Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah’s goals.
