Why Did Jurgen Klopp and Mo Salah get involved in an argument during West Ham clash?
Jurgen Klopp and Mo Salah were locked in a heated exchange
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and forward Mohamed Salah were locked in a furious argument on the touchline during their 2-2 draw with West Ham in the Premier League. Although the exact reason for their squabble is still unknown, Mirror speculates that it might have sparked on account of Klopp’s delay in substitutions.
Just when Michail Antonio scored for the Hammers to make it 2-2, cameras turned towards the Liverpool touchline, wherein Klopp and Salah were pictured in a heated exchange of words. From what it seemed, Salah was supposed to come on as part of a triple substitution, with Darwin Nunez also gearing up to come on.
The Uruguayan was even seen attempting to diffuse the situation by extending his arm out between the two as things looked serious between them.
With the match level at 2-2, the Reds were pushing more forwards in their attempts to find the winning goal. The Egyptian ace and Nunez eventually did come on in the 79th minute, just seconds after Antonio’s goal, but neither were able to find the elusive third for Liverpool which would have secured them all three points.
Klopp’s farewell tour goes from bad to worse
Coming into the game on the back of just two wins from their previous six matches, Jurgen Klopp’s farewell tour took a turn for the worse today with a disappointing 2-2 draw with West Ham. It all but ends their Premier League title charge, as Arsenal and Manchester City now have a chance to extend their lead over the side further. Having also been knocked out of the FA Cup and the Europa League within the last month, it seems like Liverpool’s promising campaign will end with just the Carabao Cup, making for a poor end to Klopp’s tenure.
