Julian Alvarez comes clear on his Man City future as top clubs gear to sign him
With Man City’s forward Julian Alvarez still having about four years left on his contract at the reigning Premier League Champions, any deal for him is likely to cost an interested party a hefty chunk of the transfer fee. Despite this scenario, clubs aren’t backing down on keeping tabs on the Argentina international.
La Liga club Atletico Madrid was earlier reported to be the club planning a move for Julian Alvarez in the ongoing summer transfer window. However, things aren’t as advanced from their end till now.
A recent post by ‘Fabrizio Romano’ on his official ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) has impersonated Julian Alvarez’s statement regarding his future at Man City and where things stand as of now. “Last season, I was one of the players with the most minutes at City. But in the end, you don’t like being left out of important matches, you want to contribute”. The Argentinian reportedly asserted.
“I’ll take my time to think about what I want for myself. We’ll see”, Alvarez further stated.
Apart from Atletico Madrid, Man City’s rivals Premier League clubs – Chelsea, and Arsenal are also being linked with the player. ‘Sportbible’, has suggested that the Gunners’ interest in Alvarez is quite new as Chelsea was tipped to be monitoring the player before their London rivals.
Arsenal does have quite a bit of former City players at its disposal in the form of Gabriel Jesus, and Oleksandr Zinchenko. Arteta certainly has done a decent job in working with these players till now. Alvarez does appear to be a player who can really grow in Arsenal’s system.
It remains to be seen, whether Alvarez stays at City, or chooses to move on.
