Josh Sargent Injury: US Star Forward’s Copa America Hopes in Jeopardy
United States forward Josh Sargent is set to miss Saturday’s friendly against Colombia and is at risk of being excluded from the Copa America roster as well.
The match will be held at Landover, Maryland, followed by a game against Brazil in Orlando, Florida before the Copa Ameria tournament kicks off.

The 24-year-old from O’Fallon, Missouri netted 16 goals in 26 league appearances for Norwich City in England’s second tier this season. However, Sargent finished the season dealing with foot swelling.
“He’s not going to be fit to play in the Colombia game. We’ll have to see if he makes it for the Brazil game, and then we’ll have to make a decision if he makes it on the Copa America roster,” U.S. coach Gregg Berhalter said on Friday.

US in Copa America 2024
The Americans will face Brazil in Orlando on Wednesday after the Colombia match. The U.S. has scheduled first-round matches against Bolivia on June 23, Panama on June 27, and Uruguay on July 1 in their Copa America 2024 campaign.
While Folarin Balogun, Ricardo Pepi, and Haji Wright are the other forwards named in the U.S. roster.
