Jadon Sancho Transfer: Manchester United loanee reluctant towards Old Trafford return
Jadon Sancho Transfer: Old Trafford return seems like a far fetched idea
Even if Erik Ten Hag is sacked Jadon Sancho seems to show no hopes of playing for Manchester United again.
Manchester United held talks with Borussia Dortmund’s number 10, Jadon Sancho during his loan spell. However, Erik Ten Hag claims his dispute with the player will be resolved by the end of the season.
In January, the 24-year-old joined Dortmund on a temporary spell because of less game time since August after a rift with Erik Ten Hag who left him out of the squad after a 3-1 defeat in September by Arsenal.
Erik was quick to add his words after the game claiming Sancho was not fit enough for the game. However, the winger immediately responded with a tweet calling the manager a liar. For the above act, Sancho refused to apologize to the Dutchman, thus losing his spot in the squad.
The move to Germany changed the tides for the English player as his impact was felt immediately providing an assist for Marco Reus in the 3-0 win over Darmstadt. Additionally, his recent performance in the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint Germain was also appreciated. Following the incident Ten Hag was asked if he would accept the player after an apology and if he was being monitored at Dortmund.
“We are close in that process,” the Manchester United manager said. “We are visiting games, not only [Wednesday] – [I] will not say all the games, but we have seen more games from Dortmund where Jadon was performing. We had a visit with him, we talked with him, and we will keep going with this process.”
It is clear, that former football director John Murtough and Matt Hargreaves, director of player negotiations were the club representatives who travelled to Dortmund.
Ten Hag found himself in the hot seat over the apology saying: “There was a conflict and let’s finish the season first,”. also adding “So stay away from this issue now – it is not important. He has the return [leg] of the semi-final, in the league it is not going that well for them. We have four important games in the league and the FA Cup final and then we will see.”
