Inter Milan vs Udinese Player Ratings – Asslani scores an Olimpico as Inter down Udinese to book a place in the Quarter-finals

Inter Milan were looking to continue their form in Serie A and go for the Coppa Italia title after a disappointing campaign last season while Udinese were eyeing to upset the tournament favourites and win this tournament for the first time in their history. Inter rotated heavily from back to front to keep their main team fresh for their league campaign while Udinese started ex-Inter player Alexis Sanchez, who recently came back from an injury.

Inter were denied a penalty early on in the first half, but the disappointment did not last long as Arnautovic scored the opening goal of the night with a finish into the bottom right corner. The game halted close to the end of the first half because of a medical emergency in the stands, but play resumed, as Kristjan Asllani scored a sensational Olimpico goal to double Inter’s lead right before half-time.

Udinese made changes at half-time, but they were not impactful. Inter played it safe in the second half, focusing more on protecting the lead and conserving their energy and Udinese were too passive to make a meal out of that. While there was a good chance in the end, Martinez made a brilliant save and made sure Inter kept the cleansheet.

Bastoni: 6.5/10 – A rare off game for Bastoni, while not error prone, he was not too impactful and got subbed off in the second half.

Buchanan: 6/10 – An energetic performance from the Canadian, but he lacked precision in his passes tonight.

Frattesi: 6.5/10 – An average display, without causing too much trouble.

Asllani: 7.5/10 – A splendid goal from him, although it was a bit fortunate, which helped the team play the game safely and conserve energy.

Zielinski: 7/10 – A calm performance from the midfielder and created some good chances too.

Augusto: 6.5/10 – An energetic display on the left flank and was unfortunate to not get on the scoresheet.

Piana: 7/10 – Despite conceding twice, he made some good saves in the game and kept the scoreline respectable.
