India 0-0 Mauritius Player Ratings as the Blue Tigers share stalemate in the first game of coach Manolo Marquez

India settled for a goalless draw against 179th ranked Mauritius which was the first game of Manolo Marquez as the head coach. The India team had the possession but was clearly lacking the threat and creativity in front of goals. The post-Sunil Chhetri era had already started where India is clearly suffering in the attack after just having one shot on target in the match.

The first half was a balanced one with both the teams hardly getting their act together in attack. India relied heavily on the set pieces while Mauritius got a couple of opportunities with quick counter attacks.

In the second half Mauritius was superior for most of the time as they managed to exploit the Indian defence on multiple occasions. Indian players looked very much nervous committing rookie errors and losing possession at crucial junctures of the game.

Manolo Marquez ahead of the game termed this intercontinental cup as a rehearsal for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers and has a lot to address before the game against Syria on September 9. Check India vs Mauritius Player Ratings:
