India Extends Support to Saudi Arabia’s Ambitious Bid to Host FIFA World Cup 2034

Saudi Arabia Football Federation will submit a bid to FIFA governing body to host FIFA World Cup 2034 edition. Saudi emerged as a hub of football after organizing Saudi Pro League with some of the big stars across the world including Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar Jr. N Golo Kante, etc. Recently, the world soccer governing body FIFA invited Asia and Oceania regions to submit bids for hosting World Cup games.

Saudi’s bid to hosts FIFA World Cup 2034

Saudi Arabia’s football federation recently issued a statement just after FIFA named Morocco, Portugal, and Spain as the host of 2030 FIFA World Cup. Saudi’s side stated that “Led by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), the bid for 2034 intends to deliver a world-class tournament and will draw inspiration from Saudi Arabia’s ongoing social and economic transformation and the country’s deep-rooted passion for football.”

Further added to their statement “Saudi Arabia’s inaugural FIFA World Cup bid is backed by the country’s growing experience of hosting world-class football events and its ongoing plans to welcome fans across the world to the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup and 2027 AFC Asian Cup.”

India Supported Saudi Arabia’s Bid

The 2034 FIFA World Cup will be the 25th edition. 48 teams and 6 confederations will participate in this event. It’s now a call of FIFA to finalize the venue for World Cup events. However, If Saudi Arabia is declared as the host of FIFA World Cup 2034, then the event will take place in November-December month as FIFA did in Qatar.

Saudi side also received support from Asian Football Corporation (AFC) President Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa. He stated, “The entire Asian football family will stand united in support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s momentous initiative.” Even, close friend India also backed Saudi’s bid to host FIFA World Cup.
