Ilkay Gundogan’s stance on his future amid Fenerbahce interest
The veteran midfielder who joined Barcelona on a free transfer last summer was linked with a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce. The club recently hired Jose Mourinho as their newly-appointed manager, who reportedly pursued a move for the German midfielder.
But, Gundogan intends to stay put at Camp Nou for the upcoming campaign and has no desire to contemplate a transfer elsewhere during the summer. The 33-year-old has been a key man for Barcelona last season, registering five goals and 14 assists coming from his 50 appearances in all competitions.
He believes he can be an important player for Hansi Flick despite the increased competition for places in the current Barcelona roster.
