Huddersfield vs Coventry Preview

Huddersfield vs Coventry will take place in the EFL Championship at the John Smith’s Stadium on March 29 as the 22nd-placed side take on the eighth-placed side.

The hosts will enter this contest on the back of a poor run of form. They have won just twice in their last eight games across competitions, losing four and drawing two. In that time, they have conceded 14 goals and scored nine goals. Huddersfield are winless in their last four games, drawing two and losing two. Their last outing was a goalless draw at bottom-side Rotherham. The Terriers will look for more points to get out of the drop zone in the coming weeks.

The visitors, on the other hand, are in a much better shape and form. They have lost just once in their last five games across competitions, winning all the other four. In that time, they have scored freely, hitting 16 goals and conceding just four. Coventry have 57 points and are just four points off the playoff spots. Having defeated Wolves 3-2 in the FA Cup last time out, they will look to continue their good run of form and try making it into the playoff spots.

With that said, let’s take a look at the team news coming out from both camps.

Manager Andre Breitenreiter will have very few injuries to worry about heading into his team’s next game. Defenders Josh Ruffels and Ollie Turton will be out long-term having already missed significant chunks of this season. They both could be out until the summer and might make it back only for pre-season.

Brodie Spencer picked up an injury in the last game and will be assessed in the 11th hour before the next. Sorba Thomas will miss out after being sent off in the last one, while Tom Lees, Matty Pearson and Delano Burgzorg risk being suspended if they receive another yellow card.

Coventry

Manager Mark Robins too has a very short injury list to worry about. Midfielders Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and Jamie Allen have missed a considerable amount of time through injuries and will not be available for the next game.

Meanwhile, Jay Dasilva, Ben Sheaf, Luis Binks and Milan van Ewijk have all been booked four times already this season. Should they receive another, they will be suspended for one game.
