Hailing from Surrey, England, Elliott was introduced to the beautiful game of football at a tender age. The popularity of football in the country also worked like magic in inspiring the midfielder in his childhood. His unwavering passion and love for Liverpool pushed the player to follow the game. However, he was initially rejected by Chelsea youth academy for his height. But, at the age of seven, he joined Queens Park Rangers and started training at the youth academy of the club. 

His father, Scott Elliott, played a crucial role in developing his interest in football. When he started playing football, it was his father who motivated him to pursue the game.

Harvey Elliott was lured in by Queens Park Rangers when he was only seven years old. Under the guidance of the experienced coaches, the English professional excelled in the game. Through sheer dedication and hard work, Elliott became one of the best players coming out of the English club’s youth academy. His quick-passing ability, quick-feet and exquisite dribbling skills made him a hot prospect in England. Later, Fulham FC signed him in 2018.

Meteoric Rise at Fulham (2018-2019)

Through displaying hard work and dedication, Elliott quickly earned a promotion in the Premier League club in 2018. His dazzling performance at the youth level caught the attention of the club, and he was handed his dream professional debut in the EFL Cup, which made him the youngest player to feature in the tournament. He went on to clinch the EFL Young Player of the year award in his debut season. 

The versatile English winger continued to showcase dazzling performances in every match week for the Cottagers. He made his Premier League debut in May, 2019 when he came on as a substitute in a 0-1 defeat for his team. At that time, he became the youngest ever player to make the English top flight debut.

After an eventful one-year stint at Fulham, Harvey Elliott joined his dream club, Liverpool in the 2019 summer transfer window. The Reds secured the signing for around £4.3 million fee including bonus. The exceptionally talented midfielder was handed his club debut in the EFL match against Milton. His Premier League debut for the Reds came during a 2-0 win over Sheffield United. 

However, he was sent to Blackburn Rovers on a one-year loan deal for the 2020-2021 season. He returned to Anfield after the end of the season. In one calendar year, he recorded seven goals and eleven assists to his name. Elliott played a crucial role in Liverpool’s FA Cup and EFL Cup winning campaign in the 2021-22 season. He also led his team to defend their EFL Cup trophy in the 2023-24 season. Elliott scored his first Liverpool goal in a FA Cup game against Cardiff City in 2022 where the Reds clinched a comfortable 3-1 victory. 

International career

Harvey Elliott’s immense potential has been properly used by the English football team. He received his first international call-up in 2018. He scored the opening goal of the UEFA European Under-17 Championship and propelled the English side to the title glory. He was also a part of England’s UEFA European Under-21 Championship winning squad. However, he is yet to make it to the senior national team of his nation.
