Harry Maguire to stay relevant
However, leaving United has not been an option for Maguire. He is reported ready to have another go with United. HITC wrote that according to the player’s representative, he believes that he is capable of doing something important for the club.
United’s manager Erik Ten Hag has spoken about Maguire since last year. The Dutchman believes that the former Leicester City centre half has quality to be in a team like United. But it is up to the player to prove it all.
“He has the ability to be a top-class centre-back,” said Ten Hag via BBC. “He is the best for England so why shouldn’t he be the best for us? “But he has to prove it. When he is not confident enough to fight then he has to go, then he has to make a decision.”
People started to talk about Maguire’s future at Old Trafford following the arrival of two big signings at the back, Leny Yoro dan Matthijs de Ligt. With younger players coming, one of them has enough experience captaining a team with Ajax calibre at the age of 18, Maguire’s exit door seems imminent.
