Harry Kane Makes Bundesliga History but Suffers Injury Blow as Bayern Munich Rout Darmstadt 5-2

In a Bundesliga encounter marked by both celebration and concern, Harry Kane etched his name into the league’s history books before being forced off due to injury as Bayern Munich secured a commanding 5-2 victory over Darmstadt.

Harry Kane Injury Update

Kane’s milestone moment arrived when he netted his 31st league goal, surpassing Uwe Seeler’s record for the most goals in a debut season in the German top flight.

However, the joy of this achievement was tempered by the England captain’s untimely injury, casting doubt over his availability for upcoming fixtures.

Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel provided insight into Kane’s injury, stating,

“He stumbled and fell in the net and twisted his ankle. He is cooling it now with ice. There is no diagnosis yet. We have to wait and see and hope it is just a scary moment.”

Jamal Musiala Shines For Bayern

Despite the injury setback, Bayern showcased their dominance on the pitch, with Jamal Musiala playing a pivotal role.

Musiala’s brace, coupled with goals from substitutes Serge Gnabry and Mathys Tel, propelled Bayern to victory, closing the gap on league leaders Bayer Leverkusen to seven points.

Darmstadt initially stunned Bayern by taking the lead through Tim Skarke’s goal, but Musiala’s equalizer and Kane’s record-breaking strike before halftime shifted the momentum in Bayern’s favour. Musiala continued to shine, setting up Gnabry’s goal shortly after coming on as a substitute.

However, the match was marred by Kane’s injury scare, as he collided with the post while attempting to turn in a rebound. As Bayern sealed their triumph with Tel’s late goal, Darmstadt’s Oscar Vilhelmsson salvaged a late consolation.

Looking ahead, Bayern Munich will resume Bundesliga action after the international break with a highly anticipated clash against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, March 30.
