Ryan Giggs praises Alejandro Garnacho: The next Manchester United star after Cristiano Ronaldo?
Ryan Giggs impressed by Impact of Garnacho
Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has high hopes for Alejandro Garnacho after seeing the young winger as a refreshing throwback to the club’s iconic wide players.
Giggs who set the standard for wingers at Old Trafford believes Garnacho’s style echoes the early days of Cristiano Ronaldo. His comments come after Garnacho’s standout performance in the Community Shield where the young Argentine impressed fans and pundits alike.
“Garnacho has been a breath of fresh air,” Giggs shared on the Webby and O’Neill podcast. “But remember, he is a young player and there will be dips. You can’t expect him to be brilliant every game.” Giggs’ words reflect his belief in Garnacho’s potential, while also reminding fans to be patient as the youngster continues to develop.

Competition heats up in United’s attack
Giggs also touched on the growing competition within Manchester United’s frontline.
With Erik ten Hag now having more options at his disposal players like Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Amad Diallo, and Jadon Sancho are all vying for a spot in the starting XI. Giggs sees this as a positive challenge for the team.
“Marcus has got to back himself and this is what we want; competition for places,” Giggs added. “Garnacho (and) Diallo should raise the standards of the likes of Marcus, Antony, Sancho.”
