Gerard Pique on the way Lionel Messi dealt with things
In an exclusive one-to-one chat with English sports media outlet ‘talkSport’, Gerard Pique praised the attitude of Lionel Messi regarding how he approached his playing career despite always being paired alongside Ronaldo as a fierce rival. Pique stated –
“He (Messi) wasn’t that type of guy. He was very team-focused, although he was getting all the first page in all the newspapers and radios and TV”.
Pique further insisted that Leo was pretty much determined and “focused” on winning important trophies in his career. Gerard Pique also touched upon the point that despite always being in the frame for the Ballon d’Or, Lionel Messi never treated the reward as a major “priority” in his career.
From the words of the former Barcelona player, it can be inferred that Leo was very clear towards his approach to the game since his Barcelona days and the outside noises never succeeded to occupy much space in his head and hinder his ambitions and on-field performances.
Cristiano Ronaldo on his rivalry with Lionel Messi

Both Ronaldo and Messi are regarded as two of the most talented footballers ever to embrace the sport. They have never wasted any opportunity in their career to impress their fans with their spectacular and consistent performances.
