Fulham Make Enquiry for Manchester United Midfielder Scott McTominay
Fulham have made a formal enquiry about the availability of Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new Premier League season.
According to HITC, Fulham are reigniting their interest in the Scottish international aiming to fill the void left by Joao Palhinha who is set to join Bayern Munich in a deal worth around £50 million.
With Palhinha’s departure almost certain Fulham manager Marco Silva has identified McTominay as a prime target to bolster the midfield. McTominay (a Manchester United academy graduate) has been a part of the first team since 2017 and has contributed significantly to the club’s successes over the years.
Despite not being a central figure in Erik ten Hag’s plans at the start of last season the 27-year-old midfielder proved his worth as the season progressed.
Manchester United are also reportedly open to selling McTominay whose contract expires in 12 months. The Red Devils prefer to raise funds from his sale rather than risk losing him for free next summer.
