FPL Price Changes – Rises, Falls and Most Transfers In/Out For GW 28

Gameweek 28 of the Fantasy Premier League season is soon going to be upon us. In the context of that, it is important to look at how the last GW went. Gameweek 27 took place last weekend and threw up several interesting things to take note of. The stars of the show in the previous GW were Marc Cucurella of Chelsea who had a total of 15 points, Ismaila Sarr for Crystal Palace who managed a tally of 15 points and Jaden Philogene of Ipswich Town who managed a tally of 15 points too. The highlight of the weekend is the game between Manchester United and Arsenal. In their most recent game, Arsenal put 7 past PSV in the Champions League and Manchester United got knocked out of the FA Cup by Fulham.

Dango Ouattara (Bournemouth) £5.2m

Dango Ouattara is a very interesting player. At Lorient, he exploded onto the scene as a fast winger who was electric. While he has done the same at Bournemouth in the Premier League too, but under Andoni Iraola, not only has he become a well-rounded player but also a versatile one. He has played wherever Bournemouth have needed him to this season. He has been a winger and a left back to excellent effect. When the Cherries did not have a striker, he also played as a striker and scored a hat-trick. He already has 7 goals and 4 assists in the Premier League this season and is expected to get more.

Jean-Philippe Mateta (Crystal Palace) £7.5m

Crystal Palace began the season in a rather disappointing manner, but it can be said that they have bounced back impressively. At the moment, they are aiming for a top-half finish. Jean Phillipe Mateta was truly outstanding at the conclusion of the previous season, but he had a poor start this time. However, the French forward has once again increased his momentum. So far this season, he has scored 12 goals and provided 2 assists. In his last 4 matches in the Premier League, he has scored 4 goals. Last weekend, he suffered a terrible injury in an ill-tempered derby against Millwall and had to go to the hospital.

Marco Asensio (Aston Villa) £6.1m

Marco Asensio once broke through at Real Madrid as one of the most promising young players in the world, even scoring in a Champions League final. But he hadn’t been at his same level since his ACL injury. But that was until he met Unai Emery at Aston Villa. The manager looks like he has breathed new life into Asensio. In the last 4 games in all competitions, he has found the back of the net 5 times. Capably supported by the likes of Marcus Rashford, Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins and Donyell Malen, he seems to be flourishing again and is likely to massively make an impact week in week out.

Alexander Isak (Newcastle) £9.4m

Alexander Isak of Newcastle
Alexander Isak (Image via X/@NUFC)

This is an unexpected name to find on this list. But that is because Newcastle don’t play in the next gameweek given that they have a Carabao Cup final to contest. Outside of that, Alexander Isak is presently in outstanding shape. Newcastle began the season erratically; however, they are excelling remarkably well at this time. They have secured 8 straight victories, with three of those victories coming against the likes of Manchester United, Spurs, and Arsenal. Isak scored in 7 of these 8 games. The Swedish forward has scored 19 goals this season and has contributed 5 assists, and lately, he has attained exceptional form. Isak made up for a subpar performance from the past weeks with another brace against Nottingham Forest recently.

Phil Foden (Man City) £9.2m

Manchester City have varied this season from ridiculously inconsistent to downright terrible. And it is in these scenarios that teams require their star players to step up. Erling Haaland has done his bit at times but it’s Phil Foden who has been extremely disappointing. Not turning up when it matters is a criticism that has been levied at him before. But last season he put that to bed, winning the PFA Player of the Year as Manchester City won the league. This season, it has all gone out of the window again. He has managed to get just 7 goals and 2 assists and has not performed at his best.

Anthony Gordon (Newcastle) £7.4m

The reason Anthony Gordon is on this list is because he has been sidelined by injuries. Newcastle have been performing quite well recently. Although Alexander Isak may capture the majority of the attention, he has received excellent support from Anthony Gordon. The English winger has recorded 5 goals and 5 assists thus far this season in the league. He is also in fantastic form, making a goal contribution in 8 of his last 9 matches across all competitions. Gordon began the season rather sluggishly but has subsequently made a strong return to form.
