FPL Price Changes – rises, falls and most transfers in/out for GW 19
Gameweek 19 of the Fantasy Premier League season will soon be upon us, in the context of that it is important to look at how the last GW went. Gameweek 18 took place last weekend and I threw up several interesting things to take note of. The stars of the show in the previous GW were Joelinton of Newcastle who managed a tally of 13 points, Matheus Cunha who had a total of 12 points from Wolves, and Cody Gakpo of Liverpool who also managed a tally of 12 points. The fixture to watch this week is Manchester United’s clash with Newcastle. United are navigating a challenging streak, while Newcastle have shown significant improvement recently.
FPL risers
Player | Club | Price |
Ola Aina | Nottingham Forest | £5.1m |
Gabriel Martinelli | Arsenal | £6.8m |
Dean Huijsen | Bournemouth | £4.4m |
Alexander Isak | Newcastle United | £9.1m |
Phil Foden | Man City | £9.2m |
Ola Aina (Nottingham Forest) £5.1m
Ola Aina and Nottingham Forest are experiencing a fantastic Premier League season. They currently sit in 4th place in the standings, and the Nigerian fullback has been outstanding for them. No other defender in the league has accrued as many points as Aina, which highlights his exceptional quality. In addition to the 7 clean sheets that Forest has achieved, Aina also makes offensive contributions, finding the net twice this season already. He has also earned several bonus points. This has made him a really popular choice in FPL and with people buying him, his price is going up.

Dean Huijsen (AFC Bournemouth) £4.4m
Dean Huijsen has undoubtedly been the standout defender of this season so far. At merely 19, Huijsen has clearly left his impression in the Premier League. Groomed by Juventus and let go for some unclear reason despite his impressive display at Roma last season, he has cultivated a remarkable talent for headers from set pieces, leading to goals against Spurs and Manchester United. He even received the Man of the Match award last week versus Crystal Palace. It’s really no surprise that Huijsen is gaining popularity in FPL rapidly at the moment.
Alexander Isak (Newcastle) £9.1m
Newcastle have experienced fluctuations as they have faced difficulties in establishing any form of consistency this season. This is why they currently sit at 5th in the standings, following some strong recent performances. However, Alexander Isak is a player who has notably stood out for the Magpies this season, particularly recently. Considered one of the top forwards in the Premier League, the Swede has scored 11 goals this season and provided 4 assists. This encompasses a resurgence in form recently, with 9 goal contributions over his last 5 appearances in the league. There should be no doubt that he is among the best forwards in the league.
FPL fallers
Player | Club | Price |
Bukayo Saka | Arsenal | £10.3m |
Pau Torres | Aston Villa | £4.3m |
Cristian Romero | Spurs | £4.9m |
Yoane Wissa | Brentford | £6.2m |
Ederson | Man City | £5.3m |
Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) £10.5m
Bukayo Saka has sustained a hamstring injury and will consequently be unavailable for Premier League matches in the upcoming weeks. He has had surgery for the same but is expected to miss around 2 months. He is an incredibly dependable FPL asset and was thus owned by many individuals, leading to a situation where numerous people have needed to find substitutes for the Arsenal winger, which has caused his price to drop. It will be intriguing to observe if Arsenal completely falters without their key player or if they can maintain their pursuit of the Premier League title.
Ederson (Man City) £5.3m
Manchester City are in a really bad spot right now. They have 1 win in 13 games in all competitions. The inability of their big players to rise up to the occasion has been heavily criticized. For Ederson however, it’s a different story. For most of the recent games, the Brazilian has found himself out of the side on the bench. While it’s true that City have a very capable backup in Stefan Ortega, it’s quite weird that Ederson has been dropped without him making any obvious errors.
Cristian Romero (Spurs) £4.9m
This is another injury-related price fall, this time for the other side in North London. Cristian Romero has already been out for a few matches with a hamstring injury that has also seen his partner Micky Van de Ven out of action at the same time. In fact, Spurs have to play Archie Gray and Yves Bissouma, two midfielders at the heart of their defence. The Argentine will only be back in 2025 and FPL managers have gotten rid of him for now and hence the fall in his price.
