Fantasy Premier League GW 8: Key Injury Updates and Team News

The international break is over and Fantasy Premier League managers will have some big calls on their hands to modify their playing XIs. The national duties have unfortunately brought with them a load of fitness issues for several Premier League clubs. FPL managers will be looking to make their moves early this week and gain an advantage. Here is a brief overview of the FPL injury update for all 20 Premier League clubs ahead of matchweek eight.

Arsenal

Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta continues to struggle with a long injury list. Oleksandr Zinchenko, Ben White, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Kieran Tierney, Martin Ødegaard, and Thomas Partey are ruled out for the Gunners. To make matters worse Bukayo Saka and Jurrien Timber are also uncertain due to respective injury woes.

Aston Villa

Amadou Onana, Boubacar Kamara, Ezri Konsa, Jacob Ramsey, John McGinn, and Tyrone Mings will not travel with the rest of the Aston Villa squad for the Fulham game. Robin Olsen continues to remain a doubt due to a head injury.

Bournemouth

American midfielder, Tyler Adams will have to continue to wait for his first appearance of the season. Adams will remain on the sidelines due to a back injury. The rest of the squad is fit and available for selection.

Brentford

Thomas Frank has a plethora of absentees to deal with for the big encounter against Manchester United. Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Gustavo Gomes, Thiago Rodrigues, and Yoane Wissa are all injured and unavailable. Christian Nørgaard is uncertain due to a muscle injury.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton will have a long list of absentees on Saturday. Jan Paul van Hecke, Joao Pedro, and Matthew O’Riley will not travel to Newcastle. James Milner, Simon Adingra, and Solly March are also uncertain due to their respective fitness woes.

Chelsea

Chelsea and Enzo Maresca will be preparing themselves for a challenging outing against Liverpool. Reece James will be the only name on the injury list on Sunday. Apart from him, Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana are also ruled out due to suspension.

Crystal Palace

As the season has passed by, Crystal Palace has also developed a long list of absentees due to injury. Chadi Riad, Chris Richards, Matheus Franca, and Cheick Oumar Doucoure will all be unavailable for Palace on matchday eight. Adam Wharton’s participation is also uncertain due to a groin injury.

Everton

Everton will have to manage the away game against Ipswich Town without the likes of Armando Broja (Achilles Tendon Injury), Nathan Patterson (Lack of fitness), Seamus Coleman (Ankle Injury), and Youssef Chermiti (Foot Injury). Iliman Ndiaye’s participation will be confirmed by the club doctors in the coming days.

Fulham

Fulham has been dealing with the absence of Carlos Vinicius for quite some time now. Unfortunately, for the club, Joachim Andersen, Sasa Lukic, and Jorge Cuenca have also been ruled out. Marco Silva will have some big decisions to make in light of these injury worries.

Ipswich Town

Kieran McKenna will be delighted to have a relatively short injury list. Jens-Lys Cajuste, who is recovering from a knee injury, is the only name ruled out for Ipswich Town.

Leicester City

Leicester City will have three key players absent against Southampton. Hamza Choudhury (Dislocated Shoulder), Jakub Stolarczyk (Ankle Injury), and Patson Daka (Ankle Injury) are ruled out. These players will be out of action for a long period.

Liverpool

The table toppers have done a commendable job in this campaign despite the fitness woes of this campaign for Arne Slot. Alexis Mac Allister, Federico Chiesa, and Harvey Elliott will remain on the sidelines against Chelsea. The biggest miss for the Merseyside club will be the absence of starting goalkeeper, Alisson Becker who has been ruled out until the end of November.

Manchester City

Fortunately for Pep Guardiola, none of his players have contracted any injuries during the international break. The reigning Premier League champions don’t have new names on the list of the absentees from their last game against Fulham. Kevin De Bruyne, Nathan Ake, Oscar Bobb, and Rodri will not be available for Manchester City. The Belgian will be back in a few days while the latter three remain long-term exclusions.

Manchester United

Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo, Harry Maguire, Kobbie Mainoo, Lenny Yoro, Luke Shaw, Mason Mount, Noussair Mazraoui, and Tyrell Malacia are all on the injury list for Manchester United ahead of the game against Brentford. The list of absentees is a terrible piece of news for Erik ten Hag, who is battling to keep his job at Old Trafford safe.
