5. Bryan Mbeumo – Brentford | 136 points | £7.8m

Bryan Mbeumo is in the midst of an amazing season. He already has 13 goals and 3 assists and in terms of Fantasy Premier League, only Salah and Palmer have more points than him. However, there’s a certain bit of oddity about this form. Brentford have been ridiculously good at home and very poor away from home. This is backed by Mbeumo’s own showings, amazing at home and less so away. This weekend, it’s a home fixture for Brentford as they take on Manchester City. Although on paper, that is a very difficult fixture, City have been rather ordinary and struggle defensively most weeks.

4. Anthony Gordon – Newcastle | 90 points | £7.5m

Newcastle have been in quite good form of late. While Alexander Isak might take most of the headlines, he has been very capably supported by Anthony Gordon. The English winger has 5 goals and 5 assists so far this season in the league. He is also in terrific form, with a goal contribution in each of his last 8 games across all competitions. Gordon started the season rather poorly but has since then roared back into form. This weekend, Newcastle take on a defensively ordinary Wolves side, with Gordon once again expected to be among the goals.

3. Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United | 88 points | £8.3m

Manchester United can be real Jekyll and Hyde sometimes. While they have been ordinary for the most part, sometimes they are really good. And in the last two games against Liverpool and Arsenal, they have been really good. This has been led from the front by captain Bruno Fernandes who has genuinely been outstanding. While he does have 4 goals and 6 assists in the league now, they still do not paint the complete picture about the fantastic form that he has been in. With bottom placed Southampton being United’s opponents this week, the Portuguese international is a must have.

2. Cole Palmer – Chelsea | 153 points | £11.4m

Palmer

It’s the familiar faces at the top of this list once more. Cole Palmer has been remarkably productive in recent seasons. While some may have perceived the last season as an outlier because of his 33 goal contributions in the league. He has disproven all of them with 19 already this season. Nonetheless, it has been a fluctuating season for him. Three of his last four matches have not yielded substantial returns, but there are no signs that another major Fantasy Premier League score isn’t forthcoming as a sharp Chelsea team gets ready to face Bournemouth. Palmer still ranks second on the list of top point earners.

1. Mo Salah – Liverpool | 209 points | £13.7m

Mo Salah has accumulated more points in Fantasy Premier League than any other player this season so far, and this is not expected to change in the near term. He was also the inaugural player to surpass the 200 points threshold this season. Salah’s dependability is exceptional, having provided substantial returns nearly every time he has stepped onto the pitch this season. Up to this moment in the season, there have been only two matches where he has not achieved a strong return. He has already scored 18 goals and provided 13 assists in the Premier League this season, outstripping any other player at this stage in the league’s history. He found the net against Manchester United last weekend and this weekend, encounters Nottingham Forest in a significant and challenging match.

As we turn our attention to Gameweek 21, the Premier League has a thrilling set of fixtures lined up. The highlight of the weekend is the North London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. Both sides are in desperate need of a win with the pressure now mounting on the managers of both sides. Interestingly, the rivals are also both ravaged by injuries.

The deadline for GW21 is on January 14th.
