Jude Bellingham involved in a physical altercation with Serbia’s Filip Kostic
Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has guided England to a narrow 1-0 victory over Serbia in their Euro 2024 opener in Germany. The La Liga Player of the Year capped a fine display for the Three Lions after scoring in just 13 minutes of the tie.
The Three Liones struggled to showcase their dominance like Germany or Spain in their opening games but expectations are now at an all-time high for Gareth Southgate’s men after picking up their first win of the Euro 2024 campaign.
Bellingham clashed with Serbia’s Filip Kostic as he was seen shouting in the face of the left-back before giving him a shoulder barge. The 31-year-old Juventus winger seemed displeased with the confrontation and was seen having a pop at the English midfielder letting him know that his act was unappreciated.
The Real Madrid man was the standout performer as the Three Lions got off to a winning start in their Euro 2024 campaign.
Filip Kostic Injury forces him out of the field during Serbia vs England
Serbia and Juventus winger Filip Kostic sustained ligament damage on his left knee in their 1-0 defeat to England and will undergo medical tests in the next 24 hours. He was forced off the pitch in the 43rd minute after a challenge with English midfielder Jude Bellingham.
Kostic immediately fell to the ground and sought medical assistance as he walked off the pitch crying before being replaced by Filip Mladenović.
“Kostic felt a strong pain in the outside part of his left knee and we fear that he could have ligament damage. He will undergo medical tests on Monday, let’s hope it’s not as bad as it looks,” manager Stojkovic told a press conference.
The 31-year-old registered four assists in 33 appearances across all competitions for the Old Lady in 2023/24.
