FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Qualified Teams, Schedule, Stadiums, Tickets, and Qualification Process

The 21st Club World Cup, aka the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, will take place in the United States. For the first time since its inception, we will observe a massive 32 teams competing for the prestigious trophy. The design of the tournament is the same as that of the FIFA World Cup 1998 & 2022.

The competition holds immense significance as it will be played under the new format for the first time ever, unlike the previous ones, which only had seven teams. Why is Club Leon disqualified from the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup?

The Liga MX side Club Leon was disqualified from the upcoming 2025 FIFA Club World Cup on March 31st. As per reports, FIFA stated that Club Leon has failed to meet the criteria set for multi-club ownership, as the club is owned by Grupo Pachuca, which also owns CF Pachuca. Leon has officially lodged an appeal against this in CAS to lift the ban. Meanwhile, FIFA has scheduled a playoff match between LAFC and Club America, with the winner taking the place of Club León in the tournament.

As per Article 10 of FIFA’s regulations, which states that “No individual or legal entity may have control or influence over more than one club participating in the competition.” This means that there is still some final consideration to be done, as far as the competing teams for the tournament are concerned.
