When will FC Barcelona Legends play against Real Madrid Legends in India?
FC Barcelona legends are making a grand return to India for the second match against Real Madrid Leyendas this year. The match will be played in DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai which has a capacity of 55,000 spectators. The craze for football has always been prevalent in India and a grand event like this will boost further growth as well.
The last time FC Barcelona came to India was back in September 2018 when they faced Mohun Bagan Veterans and beat them 6-0. The match was organised by Kolkata-based Football Next Organisation. The concept of FC Barcelona Legends is a program by FC Barcelona to mainly showcase the players who have previously played for the club. The Barca Legends side also visited Barcelona academies in New Delhi and Mumbai.
About FC Barcelona Legends
The Barca Legends were created in 2016 and are managed directly by the club. The Legends team plays such matches yearly to boost FC Barcelona’s global brand and the club’s values as well.
The line-ups and booking details are yet to be officially announced. However, the line-up in the past has featured the likes of Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, David Billa, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and many others.
About Real Madrid Leyendas
FC Barcelona Legends are set to play Real Madrid Leyendas in an exhibition match. Club president Florentino Perez took the initiative to showcase Real Madrid legends, the club’s values and their contribution to charity as well. Slowly throughout the years, a better structured format took place for the Real Madrid Leyendas project which led to more matches further strengthening Real Madrid’s global brand and values.
Many notable legends such as Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, Raul Gonzalez, Roberto Carlos, and many more have taken part in the Real Madrid Leyendas match.
FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF Legends return to India to play a friendly match on 6th April. The match will be an exciting clash with former legends trying to impress the audience.
