Fantasy Premier League GW 7: Key Injury Updates and Team News

The international break is fast approaching and footballers will be involved with their national teams from next week onwards. Consequently, Fantasy Premier League managers will have some big decisions on their hands regarding their respective squads for matchday seven. Here is an overview of all the injury and availability updates of the 20 Premier League clubs ahead of matchday seven.

Arsenal

Oleksandr Zinchenko, Kieran Tierney, and Martin Ødegaard will be guaranteed absentees for Arsenal against Southampton on Saturday. The likes of Ben White, Jurrien Timber, and Takehiro Tomiyasu are still uncertain and Mikel Arteta will confirm their participation in the pre-match press conference. Leandro Trossard will be back, having served his suspension last week.

Aston Villa

Unai Emery’s flying Aston Villa will face Manchester United without four key players of his squad. Boubacar Kamara (Knee), John McGinn (Hamstring), and Tyrone Mings (Ligament) are all ruled out. Robin Olsen will make an attempt to recover in time and make his first appearance of the season but Villa is unlikely to take any unwanted risks with him.

Bournemouth

Tyler Adams continues to remain the only name on the injury list for Bournemouth. The Cherries will be delighted to have the rest of the squad available for selection.

Brentford

Brentford’s encounter against Wolves will not be made any easier by the number of injured players for the game. Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Josh Dasilva, Gustavo Gomes, Thiago Rodrigues, Jayden Meghoma and Yoane Wissa will not be in the matchday squad. The final decision on the availability of Christian Nørgaard and Mathias Jensen is yet to be made.

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brajan Gruda, James Milner, Joao Pedro, Matthew O’Riley, Jan Paul van Hecke, Joel Veltman, Simon Adingra and Solly March will unfortunately not be involved in Brighton’s matchday seven outing against Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea

Enzo Maresca will be overjoyed to have his previously injured players return to training this week. The Italian coach will have plenty of options to choose from to negate the threat of Nottingham Forest. Omari Kellyman and Romeo Lavia have made their respective recoveries. Club captain, Reece James, though, continues to remain unavailable due to a hamstring injury that will keep him out for the foreseeable future.

Crystal Palace

The struggling Crystal Palace side will have to tackle Liverpool without the services of Chadi Riad (Knee Injury), Cheick Doucoure (Toe Injury), Chris Richards (Hamstring Injury), and Matheus Franca (Broken Rib).

Everton

Led by Sean Dyche, Everton has started to make a climb up the Premier League table in recent weeks. The Toffees, however, will miss Armando Broja, Seamus Coleman, and Youssef Chermiti for the game against Newcastle United. Scottish youngster, Nathan Patterson is battling an illness and is also unlikely to feature.

Fulham

Fulham’s medical staff and team continue to perform an extraordinary job in keeping the club’s players fit and available. Carlos Vinicius, who has been recovering from a knock suffered in early September, has chances of travelling to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Ipswich Town

The newly promoted side will have a relatively short injury list ahead of the trip to West Ham United. Harry Clarke and Nathan Broadhead are the only two individuals on the sidelines as of now. Holding midfielder, Kalvin Phillips will be back to face his former team.

Leicester City

Patson Daka and Jakub Stolarczyk will be joined by Jannik Vestergaard on the injury list for the Foxes. The former two will be out for a longer time frame while Vestergaard is expected to be back in training after the international break.

Liverpool

The table toppers will still not be able to include Harvey Elliott in the matchday squad, owing to a broken foot. Summer signing, Federico Chiesa is also uncertain after receiving a knock. First-choice goalkeeper, Alisson Becker will once again take the responsibility for Liverpool between the posts.

Manchester City

For Manchester City and Pep Guardiola, the biggest absence will be that of Rodri. The Spaniard will be out for the rest of the campaign, after recovering from his ACL injury. Guardiola will have further injuries to worry about. Kevin De Bruyne (Groin), Nathan Ake (Hamstring), and Oscar Bobb (Broken Leg) will also not be named for the weekend game against Fulham. De Bruyne is expected to be ready after the international break.

Manchester United

Manchester United fans have had little to cheer about this season. The long injury list for the game against Aston Villa will not help the case any further. The Red Devils will not be able to count on Lenny Yoro (Leg Injury), Luke Shaw (Calf Injury), and Tyrell Malacia. Mason Mount suffered a head injury in the 3-0 loss against Spurs and has still not been cleared by the club doctors for the Villa game. Erik ten Hag will be frustrated with the magnitude of the injuries with his job on the line on Sunday. Bruno Fernandes will serve a suspension after his sending-off last weekend.

Newcastle United

Callum Wilson (Back Injury), Jamaal Lascelles (Cruciate Ligament Injury), Lewis Miley (Back Injury), and Sven Botman (Knee Injury) continue to remain unavailable for Eddie Howe and Newcastle United. Alexander Isak has suffered a fresh blow, injuring his toe. Kieran Trippier is uncertain due to a knock while Matt Targett will also not feature owing to an illness.

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest has recovered Willy Boly from his calf injury. Unfortunately, Danilo and Ibrahim Sangare will not be able to feature due to a broken ankle and hamstring injury respectively.

Southampton

For Southampton, Gavin Bazunu and Kamaldeen Sulemana are ruled out due to respective injury woes. Juan Larios and William Smallbone are yet to be cleared by the medical staff and their participation will be confirmed by the manager in the pre-match press conference.

Tottenham Hotspur

Destiny Udogie (Muscle Injury) and Heung-Min Son (Muscle Injury) will join Richarlison and Wilson Odobert on the absentees list for the match against Brighton & Hove Albion. Son might be included by Ange Postecoglou on the substitutes bench, depending on his recovery status.

West Ham United

Niclas Fullkrug, who is battling a calf injury is the only worry for Julen Lopetegui for the game on Saturday against Ipswich Town. His involvement is unlikely as the medical staff will not take any risks in light of the long season ahead.

Wolves

Enso Gonzalez (Knee Injury), Boubacar Traore (Knee Injury), Sasa Kalajdzic (Knee Injury), Yerson Mosquera (Knee Injury), Craig Dawson (Illness), Santiago Bueno (Illness), and Bastien Meupiyou (Knock) will not be able to take part for Wolves in the key game against Brentford at Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday evening.
