FA Cup 3rd Round Highlights and Results

FA Cup 3rd round fixtures brought about some exciting matches, spectacular goals, and some big results. Moreover, half the fixtures ended in a draw, which will lead to eight replays on Wednesday, January 17, at 1:15 am IST.

Regardless, the biggest game of the FA Cup 3rd round saw Arsenal host Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, January 7. Jakub Kiwior’s own goal (80’) and Luis Diaz’s excellent strike (90+5’) secured a big win for the Reds. Liverpool won the FA Cup in the 2021-22 season and will look to lift the trophy again this season.

Current holders Manchester City, meanwhile, hammered Huddersfield 5-0 at the Etihad Stadium in the FA Cup 3rd round. Manchester United beat Wigan Athletic 2-0 at the DW Stadium while Chelsea beat Preston North End 4-0 at Stamford Bridge. Tottenham Hotspur beat Burnley 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Other Premier League sides like Brighton & Hove Albion, Fulham, Newcastle United, and Bournemouth also qualified for the fourth round.

However, the likes of West Ham United, Everton, Brentford, and Crystal Palace will have to go through the replay after they played out a draw in their respective games.
