Everton’s prospective new owner Dan Friedkin to have a say in Jarrad Branthwaite transfer saga: Report

As per a recent report by ‘Liverpool Echo’, Premier League club Everton‘s prospective new stake owner Dan Friedkin is likely to have a say in Jarrad Branthwaite’s transfer proceedings amidst severe interest from league rivals Man United. Friedkin is reportedly keen to ascertain that the English defender stays at the Toffees and the club doesn’t get lured into any cheap financial proposition for Branthwaite in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Man United has so far witnessed a couple of bids rejected by Everton for the defender Jarrad Branthwaite. While their earlier bid was cited to be in the region of £30-35 million, the second and recent one was touted to be about £45-50 million. However, Everton are reluctant to sell at this price point as they consider the player a top-level talent.

Also, the ‘Liverpool Echo’ report signifies that Everton might be able to find themselves in a decent situation as far as Premier League’s PSR rules are concerned in the upcoming days. The Toffees managed to offload players like Ben Godfrey and Lewis Dobin in the previous PSR period. Further, they are reported to be in talks with Aston Villa for selling midfielder Amadou Onana at a hefty reported price tag of about £50 million.

All this might land the Goodison-based club in a position where they may not be rushed to sell Jarrad Branthwaite to balance the books. As per Keith Wyness (former Everton Chief Executive), Dan Friedkin is determined to make sure that Branthwaite plays for Everton in the upcoming top-flight season.
