The UEFA Euro 2024 is set to start in two weeks in Germany so let’s take a look at Euros Top Goalscorers of all time. The competition has seen some of the greatest names in European football battle it out over the years. It includes the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry, and many more. There have been some exciting attacking displays from some of these superstars and they have gotten their names into the top scorers list at Euros. 1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal) – 14 Goals

Cristiano Ronaldo is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and one of the top scorers in UEFA Euro history. He has won almost every trophy available. This includes the Euros, which he won back in 2016 with Portugal. He also won the Golden Boot in Euro 2020. He is set to become the first player to feature in six European Championships when he takes the field in 2024. He is the current all-time top scorer in the competition with 14 goals and will look to add to the tally in what could be the 39-year-old’s final major tournament with Portugal. He is among the best scorers in UEFA Euro.

2. Michel Platini (France) – 9 Goals

One of the greatest attacking midfielders of his generation, Michel Platini, is second on the list of Euros top goalscorers with 9 goals. He reached the count in just five games. Platini had won the 1984 Euros with France. He is currently a Football Administrator. He played for clubs like Saint-Etienne and Juventus and won numerous trophies. Platini also managed France for four years between 1988 and 1992.

3. Antoine Griezmann (France) – 7 Goals

Antoine Griezmann has been one of France’s most important players in recent years. The attacking midfielder has especially performed well at every major tournament and the Euros are no different. Griezmann is third on the list of Euros top goalscorers with 7 goals. He can add to the tally at the Euro 2024 and will look to win the tournament for the first time as well. He helped France win the 2018 FIFA World Cup and reach the final in the 2022 World Cup, where they lost against Argentina on penalties.

4. Alan Shearer (England) – 7 Goals

Tied with Antoine Griezmann on 7 goals is Alan Shearer. The former England striker couldn’t help his side win the tournament but was a key performer for them. He won the Golden Boot at the 1996 Euros as well. The Englishman is still the record holder for Premier League all-time top scorer with 260 goals. He played for clubs like Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers. He won the only trophy of his club career at Blackburn, winning the Premier League in 1995.

5. Alvaro Morata (Spain) – 6 Goals

Another player who can add to their tally at Euro 2024 is Alvaro Morata. The Spain international is currently in fifth place with 6 goals and hasn’t won the trophy at the senior level. The Spanish squad had a disappointing Round of 16 exit at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and will look to go till the end at Euro 2024. Morata has registered 34 goals and 7 assists in 71 games for Spain. Morata has played for clubs like Real Madrid, Juventus and Chelsea, winning numerous trophies. He currently plies his trade for Atletico Madrid.

6. Thierry Henry (France) – 6 Goals

Thierry Henry is a France, Arsenal and Barcelona legend. He scored 6 goals at the Euros and also won the trophy with Les Bleus in 2000. He also helped France win the FIFA World Cup in 1998. He was also the team’s all-time top scorer with 51 goals but was recently surpassed by Olivier Giroud, who currently has 57. Henry played for the likes of Arsenal and Barcelona in his club career. He was regarded as one of the greatest players of his time and one of the Premier League’s greats.

7. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Swedan) – 6 Goals

Ibrahimovic is widely regarded as one of the best centre-forwards of his generation. He helped Sweden compete consistently in big tournaments and scored six goals at the Euros. Ibrahimovic played for the likes of Barcelona, Manchester United, and AC Milan during his career. He recently announced his retirement from the sport, with his last club being AC Milan. Strangely, despite having much success, Ibrahimovic never won the UEFA Champions League.

8. Patrick Kluivert (Netherland) – 6 Goals

Former Netherlands striker Patrick Kluivert is also tied for 6 goals in the Euros’ top goalscorers list. He couldn’t help his side win the trophy but is fourth on the list of all-time top scorers for the Dutch side. He won the Golden Boot at the Euro 2000 after scoring 5 goals. He played for the likes of Barcelona and Ajax and won multiple trophies, including Champions League with Ajax in 1995.

9. Romelu Lukaku (Belgium) – 6 Goals

Romelu Lukaku has had a roller-coaster of a career so far. He has had some excellent spells at the likes of Everton and Inter Milan but also some poor ones like at Chelsea. The 31-year-old has scored 6 goals at the Euros for Belgium and could add to the tally at Euro 2024 in June. He has had a decent season with AS Roma and will look to translate the form on an international level.

10. Nuno Gomes (Portugal) – 6 Goals

Yet another played tied on 6 goals in the Euros top goalscorers list is Nuno Gomes. The former Portugal striker couldn’t help his side win the trophy but finished as runner-up once in 2004 and in third place in 2000. Portugal eventually won the trophy in 2016 under Cristiano Ronaldo’s captaincy. He spent the majority of his club career at Benfica over two stints and also played for the likes of Blackburn Rovers and Fiorentina.
