Euro 2024 Most Assists: Updated standings after Round 2 of games in the tournament

Round 2 of games in Euro 2024 has come to an end and some teams have claimed their spots in the knockouts, while others will battle it out in Round 3.

The round began with Croatia and Albania playing an entertaining 2-2 draw in Group B, followed by Germany’s 2-0 win against Hungary to qualify, and Scotland’s 1-1 draw against Switzerland in Group A. Two more draws in Group C followed suit as Slovenia and Serbia ended 1-1, as did Denmark vs England. Spain narrowly defeated Italy 1-0 to claim top spot in Group B.

Ukraine then exorcised their ghosts from their last defeat to emerge 2-1 winners against Slovakia in Group E. Austria, too, bounced back from defeat to win 3-1 against Poland in Group D, while the Netherlands and France played out a goalless draw. Georgia and Czechia played an end-to-end 1-1 draw in Group F as Portugal laid their claim on top spot by defeating Turkey 3-0. Belgium made things interesting in Group E with a win to leave all four teams on three points apiece after two games.

5. Lukas Haraslin (Slovakia)

The 28-year-old Sparta Prague winger has had two great games for Slovakia so far. Although he did not contribute towards his team’s only goal in the 1-0 win against Belgium, he provided an assist Ivan Schranz’s opener after just 17 minutes. Slovakia face Romania next and it could be a chance for Haraslin to add to his tally.

4. Ilkay Gundogan (Germany)

Gundogan played a key role in Germany’s 2-0 win against Hungary as he scored a goal and also bagged an assist. He passed the ball with 85% accuracy, including two key passes and looked sharp throughout the match. With Switzerland up next, he will look to carry this form forward.

3. Joshua Kimmich (Germany)

The Bayern Munich right back provided an assist for his nation’s first goal at Euro 2024 with a lovely cross towards Florian Wirtz waiting in the box. He had a great game that time but did not manage to keep a clean sheet, which they effortlessly did against Hungary in Round 2.

2. Fabian Ruiz (Spain)

The Spanish playmaker had a great game in his team’s 3-0 win against Croatia as he grabbed one goal and one assist. However, Ruiz drew a blank in Spain’s 1-0 win over Italy, but has done enough to retain his spot in the lineup for the next match for sure.

1. Dennis Man (Romania)

An unlikely name to top the Euro 2024 Most Assists chart, Man had a great outing in his team’s 3-0 win against Ukraine. He provided the assist for skipper Nicolae Stanciu’s thunderous effort from range in the 29^th minute and also set up Denis Dragus for Romania’s third goal in the 57^th minute. Now with Slovakia up next, he will look to end the group stage on a good note.
