Espanyol’s Joan Garcia answers to Arsenal and Liverpool rumours
Arsenal and Liverpool are locked in a transfer tussle for Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia with both Premier League giants keen to secure the 23-year-old’s services before the transfer window closes.
Arsenal have identified Garcia as the ideal replacement for Aaron Ramsdale who is expected to join Wolves on loan. The Gunners have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Garcia though no formal offer has been made.
Despite the speculation, Garcia remains focused on his current club, stating, “I am very happy here” and emphasizing his commitment to Espanyol.
But Liverpool’s interest could complicate matters for Arsenal, as the Reds explore alternative options after failing to land Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili.
Garcia’s release clause has recently increased to €30 million and could rise further with a national team call-up. With Arsenal and Liverpool both in pursuit, Espanyol’s shot-stopper could become one of the most sought-after goalkeepers in the final days of the transfer window.
