EURO 2024

5 of England’s midfield options for Euro 2024

The Three Lions will head into the summer’s Euro 2024 in Germany as one of the favourites, but fans are focused on players making their place in the tournament. Several marquee players are fighting for a few spots in Gareth Southgate’s XI.

The midfielder area is currently bloated with a number of high-profile players who are plying their trade in some of the elite clubs in Europe. Gareth Southgate has picked a 25-match for the upcoming friendlies against Brazil and Belgium. He’s expected to reveal the final 23 players squad just a few days before the Premier League season concludes but the size of the squad has not yet been confirmed.

The reduction in squad size from the 26 players allowed at the last two tournaments has made Gareth Southgate’s daunting task harder than ever. Who can the English manager pick as his midfield options for Euro 2024 or Who will be England third midfielder at Euro 2024? \

Who will be England third midfielder at Euro 2024?

Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid)

The English midfielder who made an extraordinary debut with Real Madrid this season has had 19 goal contributions in 22 La Liga appearances so far. He’s already cemented his place as one of the sought-after footballers on the planet and could also be in the running for the 2024 Ballon d’Or. At 20 years old, Bellingham already has 27 caps to his name.

Declan Rice (Arsenal)

The former West Ham captain became the most expensive English player of all time when Arsenal signed him for £105m in the summer. Rice has been a crucial part of Arsenal’s title charge and he could be influential at the heart of England’s midfield in stopping some of the finest attackers on the planet.

Conor Gallagher (Chelsea)

Conor Gallagher has been one of the consistent performers in the current underperforming Chelsea squad and has already earned 11 caps for the Three Lions. The energetic midfielder, who’s facing an uncertain future at Stamford Bridge is making a strong case to be included this summer.

The 27-year-old suffered an ankle injury earlier this season but has now returned to action. He’s had 12 goal contributions in 18 league outings which indicates he has earned the trust of Gareth Southgate.

Jordan Henderson (Ajax)

The veteran midfielder’s controversial move from Liverpool to Al-Ettifaq came to an end when he joined Ajax this winter. He brings a ton of leadership qualities and his move to Europe will definitely strengthen his chances of participating in Euro 2024 in Germany.
