England 1-2 Greece: Player Ratings as Vangelis Pavlidis wins the game at the death as Bellingham’s late leveler goes in vain
England hosted Greece at the Wembley Stadium and fell to a 2-1 defeat after late drama on both ends of the pitch. The result sees Greece create some distance between themselves and the Three Lions at the top of League B Group 2 as they lead by 3 points.
England dominated possession in the first period but could not create sufficient opportunities to break into the box. Greece did not create much either in a first half that was more of a chess battle as the teams were tied goalless at the break.
The second half saw Greece grab an unlikely lead just four minutes after the restart as Konstantinos Koulierakis assisted Vangelis Pavlidis to make it 1-0. Jude Bellingham seemed to have rescued a point for England with an 87th minute equalizer assisted by Dominic Solanke. However, Pavlidis scored again in the 94th minute to win the game for the visitors.
Having said that, let’s take a look at the player ratings for both sides.
