Dutch forward Donyell Malen joins Aston Villa from Borussia Dortmund

Donyell Malen, the Netherlands International attacker has signed for Premier League club Aston Villa to bolster their attacking prowess from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund. The English club officially announced the signing of Malen.

The transfer fee reportedly involved is around £27.7 million, including all the performance add-ons. The 25-year-old has scored 39 goals in 131 appearances for the German club since moving to Signal Iduna Park in 2021 from PSV Eindhoven.

The Dutch forward’s arrival will boost the attacking options for Unai Emery, as he is set to compete with the likes of Leon Bailey, Morgan Rogers and Jhon Durán for a starting place. Aston Villa are currently standing in the middle of the league table and plans to clinch a second successive European birth for the 2025/26 season.
