DC vs RCB Women Head-to-Head Record:

The head-to-head record over the past couple of seasons between these two teams is heavily tilted in favor of DC. They have just played five matches against each other in the previous two seasons out of which as many as four have been won by the Capitals while RCB have managed just one win. DC vs RCB Women Pitch Report & Weather Conditions:

High-scoring venue

The pitch at the Kotambi Stadium is a high-scoring venue where the batters enjoy the ball coming onto the bat nicely. In the two WPL games held at this venue so far, the first innings scores were 201 and 164 suggesting that the pitch is more a batter’s friend rather than a bowler’s.

Dew Factor

The dew is expected to play a major role in the match. We have already seen in this tournament that the dew is pretty heavy, especially in the second innings at Kotambi Stadium and it makes batting much easier in the later half with the bowlers and fielders struggling to grip the ball.

Average 1st Innings Score

The average first innings score in the couple of WPL matches played at the Kotambi stadium is 182.

Chasing Record

Both the WPL matches played at the Kotambi Stadium so far have been won by the chasing team and both these teams have won chasing here in their first games. First, it was RCB itself who made the highest successful run-chase of 202 against Gujarat Giants and then Delhi Capitals chased down 165 off the last ball against Mumbai Indians. This ground is extremely suitable for chasing.

Delhi Capitals: Even though Capitals scraped through to a last-ball win against Mumbai Indians in their first match, they almost made a meal of the run chase in which they were cruising at one stage. Their bowlers, led by Shikha Pandey, who got 2 wickets, in the first half, and Annabel Sutherland, who got a 3-er, in the second did a remarkable job to keep Mumbai Indians down to 164.

Opener Shafali Verma showcased imperious form with an 18-ball 43 at the top and some invaluable contributions from the likes of Nikki Prasad and Sarah Bryce bailed them out. They would want their middle order to rise up to the occasion and would expect the likes of Jemimah Rodrigues, Alice Capsey and even skipper Meg Lanning to hit form.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru: RCB were powered to a win by Richa Ghosh’s heroics with the bat in their season opener when they chased down 202 with 9 balls to spare. Ellyse Perry’s half-century and Kanika Ahuja’s valuable all-round contribution were also big positive signs for the defending champions.

With the ball, Renuka Singh continued her love affair with Vadodara. They too would want their skipper, Smriti Mandhana to hit the ground running after a quiet first match and would also be hoping for a better bowling and fielding performance.

RCB-W vs DC-W Toss Prediction: DC to win and bowl first

We have already seen in this tournament how the Kotmabi Stadium favors the chasing side with the pitch remaining good for batting throughout the duration of 40 overs but it gets much better in the second innings with the dew that falls making the ball come onto the bat even better and makes bowling really tough under wet conditions.

Both the skippers won the toss in their respective first matches and went on to chase successfully, expecting them to follow the same mantra.

DC-W vs RCB-W Score Prediction:

Considering the average first-innings score of 182 and the fact that both these teams have many high-quality international batters in their line-ups, a first-innings score of around 190-200 could be expected in the match.

DC-W vs RCB-W Players to perform prediction:

Delhi Capitals Women

  1. Shafali Verma – The DC opener is coming off a spectacular 43-run knock off just 18 balls in the previous match and she has also been in tremendous form in the recent past plundering runs in the domestic circuit. Verma’s highest WPL score (84) also came against RCB and she has 2 fifties as well as a 44 against them in 5 matches.
  2. Alice Capsey – One opponent that the Englishwoman loves playing against is RCB. She has scores of 38, 48, 46, and 0 against the defending champions. With the DC middle order failing in the previous match, expect her to bounce back.
  3. Shikha Pandey – The Indian pacer who has a wealth of experience is one of the unsung heroes who keeps doing her job quietly without getting the limelight. She was DC’s best bowler in the previous match and once again would want to put up another one of her solid efforts with the ball.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women

  1. Ellyse Perry – The Australian star all-rounder has been in prolific form and she enjoys herself against the Capitals. She has scores of 31, 67*, 49, and 35* against the two-time finalists, and having started the season off with a half-century, she looks in ominous touch.
  2. Smriti Mandhana – The RCB skipper is probably in the form of her life and has been scoring bucket-loads of runs in the recent past. Even though she missed out in the first match, she would not be quiet for too long and might be in for a big shot against the Capitals having crossed the 30-run mark thrice in 5 innings against them with a highest of 74.
  3. Richa Ghosh – RCB’s player of the match and wicketkeeper, Richa Ghosh is striking the ball as beautifully as any, and having won the previous match with her bat, she would be raring to go again.
