Crystal Palace ask Sam Johnstone to leave
The Premier League season is a little over a week away as teams get ready for the 2024-25 campaign. Crystal Palace are not new to the occasion as they look to strengthen their side ahead of the latest season. While talks of incomings have been top of the agenda, the club is also trying to clear deadwood in the squad and part of that plan includes Sam Johnstone’s departure. As per club sources, the goalkeeper has been asked to leave the club and find a new destination.
Johnstone who has been with Palace since the 2022 season comes with a handy experience having served for clubs like West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa in the past. A product of the Manchester United youth academy, Johnstone’s departure could pave the way for more additions to the squad also making way for additional homegrown talent. Palace could likely push for Aaron Ramsdale as a likely replacement for the four-time capped England international.
