Euro 2024: Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo reacts to record-extending sixth tournament appearance
Cristiano Ronaldo is set to make his record-extending sixth tournament appearance at the UEFA Euro 2024. Ronaldo played his first European Championship in 2004, the year Portugal finished runner-up. He has since played in every single edition and won the competition in 2016.
The Portuguese forward has scored 14 goals in the Euros, more than any footballer in history. He won the Golden Boot at Euro 2020. Captain Cristiano Ronaldo is now set to grace the stage once again in Germany. He has been named the Selecao’s captain as well. The Al-Nassr forward reacted on social media, writing:
“Proud to be back representing Portugal at Euro. Let’s go with it!”
Cristiano Ronaldo continues his glowing international career, despite being 39. He has so far made 206 appearances for Portugal, scoring 128 goals and providing 46 assists. Ronaldo scored 10 goals and provided two assists in nine appearances in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been in devastating goalscoring form for Al-Nassr this season. He has netted 42 goals and has provided 13 assists in 42 appearances across competitions this season. Ronaldo is also the Saudi Pro League‘s highest goal scorer, with 32 goals in 29 appearances.
Roberto Martinez also has the likes of Goncalo Ramos, Rafael Leao, Joao Felix, and others in his ranks. Portugal are one of the consensus favorites to win Euro 2024.
