Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr close in on deal for PSG’s Milan Skriniar
Cristiano Ronaldo could soon be joined at Al-Nassr by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defender Milan Skriniar. The Saudi Pro League giants have reportedly submitted a bid for the Slovakian center-back, who is close to joining Luis Castro’s side.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Skriniar is set to join Al-Alami on a permanent deal despite receiving proposals from Italy. The 29-year-old has endured a disastrous spell at the Parc des Princes since joining as a free agent after leaving Inter Milan last summer.
Skriniar made 32 appearances last season but missed many games due to an ankle injury, and it appears Luis Enrique isn’t too keen on the Slovakia international following William Bacho’s arrival. He had four years left on his contract but is closing in on a move to Al-Awwal Park to link up with Ronaldo.
Ronaldo, 39, will be delighted with Skriniar’s arrival as he’ll give his team more experience at the back amid a rocky start to the new season. Al-Nassr lost 4-1 to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup, and their captain cut a frustrated figure throughout that game. Castro’s men followed that up with a 1-1 draw against Al-Raed in the Saudi Pro League.
Skriniar has plenty of experience. He was colossal at the back for Inter Milan before leaving for PSG. He made 246 appearances at the San Siro, winning the Serie A title, and he’s a four-time Slovakia Player of the Year winner.

PSG snubbed the chance to sign Cristiano Ronaldo before he joined Al-Nassr
Cristiano Ronaldo’s second spell at Manchester United was ill-fated as he left unceremoniously in November 2022. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was made a free agent for the first time in his career after reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract at Old Trafford.
The legendary forward had eyed playing UEFA Champions League football that season but was handed a bit-part role by new manager Erik ten Hag. He pushed for a departure earlier in the summer, and PSG were among the clubs touted as a potential destination.
The Ligue 1 giants opted against signing Ronaldo because they didn’t feel he was the right signing, and they didn’t have enough space on their wage bill, per ESPN. The Parisians already had Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar at the club and adding the Real Madrid legend would only have complicated matters.
