“Hopefully I can get picked”: Cole Palmer comments on his chances of making it to Euro 2024 with england
The Chelsea attacker has been in stellar form in his debut campaign for the Blues. Palmer sealed a £42.5million move from Manchester City in the last summer window and has arguably been one of the Premier League signings of the season.
Should Cole Palmer be picked for the England Euros squad?
The Chelsea talisman is the undisputed starter in Mauricio Pochettino’s squad this season, as he registered 26 goals and providing 13 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions so far.
Palmer is second in running for the Golden Boot with 21 goals, just four behind his former Man City teammate Erling Haaland. His performances earned him two senior international caps earlier this season.
The 22-year-old was awarded Chelsea Men’s Player of the Season as well as Men’s Players’ Player of the Season last night for his oustanding contribution in his debut campaign for the West London outfit.
Cole Palmer comments on his chances at Euro 2024
“Hopefully I can get picked and go to the tournamnet and show what I can do” – said Palmer on his chances at Euro 2024.
He also commented on his first season at Chelsea.
“It’s been a dream debut season for me,” Palmer said at the awards. “Thank you to the manager, staff, players and, of course, the fans. I just came to play to showcase my abilities and talent to the fans. It’s gone amazing, probably better than I’d imagined. Buzzing!”
The Man City academy product was called for the March international friendlies but a small injury prevented him from participating in both games against Brazil and Belgium. Many believe Palmer could be England’s dark horse for the upcoming European Championships.
In what has been a poor season for Chelsea, Palmer has become one of the success stories in the Premier League in 2023/24. The £42.5million increasingly looking like a bargain since his move to Stamford Bridhe from the Etihad.
