Club legend urges Liverpool to sign Anthony Gordon

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has urged his former club to go all out for Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon, who has scored 11 goals in 35 Premier League games for the Magpies last season.

The Reds are the only Premier League club to not make any signings in this summer window and were turned down by top target Martin Zubimendi over a switch to Anfield this summer. Liverpool were credited with an interest in Anthony Gordon earlier in this transfer window.

Carragher said: “If Newcastle are having problems with PSR, I would like Liverpool to be at the front of that [queue for Anthony Gordon] because he could be a real top player, he can go to another level.”
