Chelsea vs Crystal Palace Player Ratings: Palmer Shines, Jackson Scores in Standout Performances
Chelsea couldn’t build on their 6-2 win over Wolverhampton and had to share points with Crystal Palace on Sunday. The Blues dominated the Premier League match but were unable to get another goal in the second half of the match. Nicolas Jackson scored the match’s opening goal before Eberechi Eze made it 1-1 early in the second half. Both sides had chances to win the match but were unable to convert.
Here are the Chelsea vs Crystal Palace player ratings:
Chelsea Player Ratings vs Crystal Palace
Goalkeeper
Robert Sánchez – 6
Cannot be blamed for the goal, but he was sloppy in goal. He did not have a lot to do, but he almost had a howler when the ball slipped through his hand and went over the bar.
DEFENDERS
Malo Gusto – 7
Got injured in the second half, and Chelsea will be hoping that he is back fit after the international break. He was up and down the pitch today and always available for passes and tackles.
Wesley Fofana – 8
Brilliant from start to end as he was able to stop the Palace attacks with ease. Was also able to help in the attack with excellent long balls for the forwards.
Levi Colwill – 8
Equally good if not better from Colwill when compared to Fofana. Both players saw out the Palace attacks with ease and have got into the groove quickly.
Marc Cucurella – 7.5
Not his best game in attack, but was good defensively. He was quick to spot the passes from Palace and intercept with ease.
MIDFIELDERS
Moisés Caicedo – 8
A 10/10 performance in the first half was followed by a 6/10 in the second. He needs to be consistent in his display as Chelsea needs him to be at his best in most games.
Enzo Fernández – 7
The Argentine needed treatment at the end of the match but that had nothing to do with his iffy passes. Was just not able to get the final ball going and misplaced easy passes.
Cole Palmer – 7
The second-half display was probably his worst in a Chelsea shirt. Got the assist for the goal in the first half and was brilliant in starting attacks.
FORWARDS
Noni Madueke – 6.5
Brilliant in the defensive third and did a lot of good things in attack, but was just not able to get the final touch
Pedro Neto – 6.5
Tried hard to get the ball into the box at every chance in the first half, but never threatened the Palace defence. Got hooked off for Felix in the second half.
Nicolas Jackson – 7.5
Another Chelsea player who was brilliant in the first half, but sloppy in the second. He had chances to win the match late but saw his effort saved.
SUBSTITUTES
João Félix – 6
Mykhaylo Mudryk – 7
Christopher Nkunku – 6

GOALKEEPER
Dean Henderson – 8
Made superb saves in both halves and got Palace the point today. He could not do much about the goal, but the performance helped his side stay in the match and walk away with a draw.
DEFENDERS
Nathaniel Clyne – 6
Iffy performance but still managed to do better than most of his teammates. Was not able to contain Neto and then struggled against Mudryk.
Marc Guéhi – 7
He picked the Palace defenders and he showed why they were demanding over £70 million in the summer. He made things hard for Jackson and ensured the striker did not get a lot of space.
Chris Richards – 6
Was not able to get into the groove today and was getting beat a lot by Madueke. Will be delighted that Mitchell was always available to help.
MIDFIELD
Daniel Muñoz – 6.5
Brilliant going forward and helped out when needed in defense. He was always available for passes and eased the pressure in his defense.
Adam Wharton – 7
Kept the ball going when Palace had control of the match but was getting eased past by the Chelsea midfield most of the game. Still managed to hold his ground and do well.
Will Hughes – 5
Extremely lucky to have not got sent off in the match as he was committing fouls at every chance. Was hooked off early in the second half and that helped Palace get back into the game.
Tyrick Mitchell – 6
He struggled against Madueke in one-on-one duels but was available to help out Richards when needed. He did well to ensure that the Englishman was not getting space to cut inside.
FORWARDS
Daichi Kamada – 7
How he finished the match without a booking will be a case study in the future. He committed three fouls in the first 10 minutes of the match and was continued to do so until he was taken off in the second half.
Eberechi Eze – 8
Brilliant finish to get Palace their goal and was causing a lot of trouble to the Chelsea defense.
Jean-Philippe Mateta – 6.54
Had a lot of chances but never managed to get to the end of them.
SUBSTITUTES
Cheick Doucouré – 6
Ismaïla Sarr – 6
Jeffrey Schlupp – 6
