Chelsea ready to discuss potential Joao Felix return
Premier League outfit, Chelsea are making a splash in the ongoing summer transfer market with their recent requirements over the summer. The Londoners are actively operating in the ongoing summer transfer window to make necessary reinforcements to the squad ahead of the 2024-25 season.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s recent exclusive X post, Chelsea are considering re-signing the Portuguese forward, Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid as part of Conor Gallagher’s deal. The Blues recently made an official announcement of signing Pedro Neto from Wolves and added La Masia talent Marc Giui to their attacking ranks.
The London club now want to add more firepower upfront with the 24-year-old, Felix being viewed as an option by Enzo Maresca and the camp to bring on a permanent deal, with Atletico Madrid also looking to part ways with the forward at the earliest opportunity.
How was Joao Felix’s loan spell with Chelsea?
Recently, Samu Omorodion’s agreed move to Stamford Bridge collapsed due to serious problems in finalising his seven-year-long contract with the English club. Therefore, the Blues are open to negotiating a possible deal for Felix. Since the Portugal international had spent six months on loan at Stamford Bridge during the latter half of the 2022-23 season.
Where he had played 20 matches for them while managing four goals during his time in the English capital. He joined the La Liga club in the summer of 2019 on a substantial 126 Million Euro deal, but has failed to make his mark at Los Colchoneros. The former Benfica attacker is no longer preferred by Diego Simone in his plans.
