Chelsea Open to Summer Offers for Ben Chilwell
Chelsea are reportedly open to summer offers for full-back Ben Chilwell as the club gears up for another busy transfer window. The 27-year-old has struggled with injuries since joining from Leicester City in 2020.
New manager Enzo Maresca appears to favour Marc Cucurella who has impressed for Spain during the Euros. Chilwell’s absence from Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad has further fueled speculation about his future.
US billionaire owner Todd Boehly is believed to be looking to raise funds for squad rejuvenation and is willing to part ways with senior players including Chilwell and striker Armando Broja.
Despite his challenges, Chilwell still has three years left on his contract putting Chelsea in a strong position for negotiations.
Since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Chilwell has made 106 appearances, scoring nine goals and providing 12 assists. His contributions helped Chelsea lift the 2020-21 Champions League title. As the summer window approaches, it remains to be seen where Chilwell will land.
